Honda CB650R and CBR650R have been re-launched; after both bikes went off sale a few years ago.

The Honda CB650R and CBR650R middleweight motorcycles have made their return to the Indian market following a hiatus in sales. The neo-retro naked model, the CB650R, is priced at Rs. 9.20 lakh, while the CBR650R, a middleweight supersport, is available for Rs. 9.99 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom.

In recent weeks, both motorcycles have been teased multiple times, and bookings are now open, with deliveries expected to commence in February 2025. Additionally, Honda announced that deliveries for the NX500 adventure bike will begin next month.

As previously, Honda CB650R and CBR650R will be available for purchase at Honda’s BigWing showrooms.

Both motorcycles are equipped with the same 649 cc in-line four-cylinder engine, which produces 93 hp at 12,000 rpm and generates 63 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. This engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission and features a slip and assist clutch. Although there were expectations for Honda to introduce these motorcycles with its proprietary e-clutch, the current models do not include this feature.

There is a notable distinction in the design of these two motorcycles compared to the previous models available for sale. The CBR650R showcases a unique twin LED headlight arrangement, while the side panels present a more aggressive and sporty appearance. The CB650R features new extensions on the fuel tank. Additionally, both models have received updates to their rear sections. The CBR650R is offered in two color options: Grand Prix Red and Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic, whereas the CB650R is available in Candy Chromosphere Red and Matt Gunpowder Black Metallic.

In addition to full LED lighting, both 650 cc motorcycles are equipped with a new 5-inch TFT display that includes Bluetooth connectivity, compatibility with the Honda RoadSync app, and advanced electronics such as ABS and Honda Selectable Traction Control (HSTC). Both models feature 41 mm separate function big-piston forks at the front and a preload-adjustable monoshock at the rear. The front braking system consists of twin 310 mm discs, complemented by a 240 mm disc at the rear.
