CMF Phone 2 Pro Launched | Check Price, Specs and Features

What advantages does the CMF Phone 2 Pro offer, and is it advisable to transition from the CMF Phone 1? This analysis explores the significant distinctions in design, display, performance, cameras, battery life, and pricing to assist you in determining if now is the right moment to upgrade.

The CMF Phone 2 Pro has been officially introduced in India as the successor to the previous year’s CMF Phone 1. This model is not merely a simple update with a new designation; the ‘Pro’ label signifies substantial enhancements that warrant its modest price increase. Notably, it includes a 50-megapixel telephoto camera on a device priced below Rs 20,000. CMF has also resolved several issues raised by users of the first-generation phone, including the absence of a charger and limited accessories, while incorporating a new array of valuable features.

Is upgrading from the CMF Phone 1 to the Phone 2 Pro a worthwhile decision? This document provides a comprehensive comparison of both devices in terms of design, display, performance, battery life, camera capabilities, and pricing.

Upon initial observation, the CMF Phone 2 Pro may appear akin to the Phone 1; however, it is distinctly more slender and lightweight in hand. The most apparent alteration in design is found on the rear, where the new model showcases three individual camera lenses arranged in circular rings, contrasting with the pill-shaped dual-camera configuration of the Phone 1. This refreshed aesthetic exudes a more luxurious feel, and the device is also offered in new color variations.

CMF has introduced a new collection of accessories. Although the Phone 2 Pro is not compatible with the custom back panels from the Phone 1, it does support various accessories including a lanyard, a phone stand, and an innovative universal cover. This cover attaches to the back of the phone with screws and features a metal plate for the attachment of magnetic accessories like a stand or wallet. Additionally, it accommodates interchangeable lenses — specifically a fisheye and macro lens — that are designed to fit over the camera rings.

The front features a 6.77-inch flat AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. However, the peak brightness has significantly improved, now achieving up to 5,000 nits. Additionally, the bezels are somewhat thinner and more symmetrical compared to the earlier model.

The CMF Phone 1 utilized the MediaTek Dimensity 7300, whereas the Phone 2 Pro advances to the Dimensity 7300 Pro. Although the performance enhancement may be minimal, the newer chipset offers slightly improved efficiency. Additionally, the Phone 2 Pro comes pre-installed with Nothing OS 3.2 on Android 15, and the manufacturer guarantees three years of Android OS updates along with six years of security patches, which is a significant advantage for users seeking longevity.

Both devices are equipped with a 5,000mAh battery and support 33W wired fast charging. However, CMF now includes the 33W charger in the packaging of the Phone 2 Pro, a change from the previous model.

A new feature introduced is the Essential Space, accessible through the Essential Key, a physical button located beneath the power button. This key serves as a shortcut for quickly saving screenshots, notes, and voice recordings in one centralized location. The application can also leverage AI to organize and summarize the content, as well as set intelligent reminders. While the key is conveniently positioned, there is a possibility of accidental activation when using mounts or stands.
