Apple iPhone 17 Air | Fix for Smaller battery problem | Know more details..

Apple is reportedly developing its upcoming iPhone series, potentially named iPhone 17, which is expected to feature an ultra-slim variant. While there have been indications of significant design alterations in the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, the slimmer model, possibly referred to as iPhone 17 Air, appears to be garnering more attention. Recent speculation suggests that this specific model may encounter issues related to battery performance.

According to a report from The Information (as referenced by 9to5mac), new insights have emerged regarding the anticipated iPhone 17 Air from Apple. The report, which references internal testing, suggests that the device’s ultra-slim design results in a compromise: reduced battery life. It is indicated that this thinner model provides approximately 20% less battery life compared to the other models in the iPhone 17 series.

Apple has a fix for smaller battery in rumoured iPhone 17 Air

Apple is reportedly developing a solution by reintroducing a popular accessory. To assist users who prefer the more streamlined iPhone while desiring extended battery life, the company is said to be planning the return of the discontinued Smart Battery Case, now specifically designed for the iPhone 17 Air.

The company had earlier transitioned to a universal MagSafe battery pack, which was subsequently removed from the market following Apple’s shift from Lightning to USB-C ports.

The report indicates that Apple is taking a cautious approach to the demand for the iPhone 17 Air, allocating only 10% of total production capacity to this slimmer model, which reflects internal doubts regarding consumer interest. In contrast, the iPhone 17 Pro Max is expected to constitute 40% of production, while both the standard iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Pro are projected to represent 25% each.

Furthermore, the report suggests that Apple may introduce the anticipated iPhone 18 in two phases: the iPhone 18 Pro and a foldable iPhone are expected to launch in September 2026, followed by the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e in Spring 2027.
