On the evening of May 13, 2025, Airtel experienced network outages in various regions of Tamil Nadu, preventing consumers from making calls, although mobile data services remained operational.
Users from Madurai and Coimbatore expressed their frustrations on X, reporting the network issues and noting difficulties in reaching customer service, leading to the use of the hashtag #Airtel_down.
At the time of this article’s publication on Tuesday night, Airtel’s Public Relations team had not provided any information regarding the situation. However, on May 14, customers received a text message from Airtel clarifying the matter.
The message stated: ‘Last evening, we encountered a network outage in a few areas of Tamil Nadu and Kerala. Our team worked diligently overnight to resolve the issue. Our services have been fully restored. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.’
