Pokemon GO has announced its content update for September 2025, featuring the introduction of Mega Sharpedo in limited-time raids. Additionally, several beloved Kanto Pokémon will be making a return to Pokemon GO next month, coinciding with themed events and rotating Mega Evolutions, among other new features.
The monthly content updates for Pokemon GO generally encompass raids, a constantly changing selection of trainer bonuses, and Spotlight Hours. The roadmap for September 2025 is expected to adhere to this established format.
A key highlight of the upcoming month’s offerings, Mega Sharpedo is scheduled to make its debut in the game on September 7. This will occur during another Pokemon GO Raid Day, a three-hour event that will take place from 2pm to 5pm local time. While it is not unusual for Niantic to host separate shiny debuts for certain Pokémon, this will not apply in this instance, as Mega Sharpedo will have the potential to be shiny. As is customary, players will need to complete a raid to determine if they have been fortunate, since all raid variants of Sharpedo will not be shiny. The likelihood of encountering a shiny will be enhanced, in line with the standard Raid Day guidelines.

In addition to Sharpedo, the Mega Raid schedule for Pokemon GO next month features several beloved Kanto Pokemon, commencing on September 2 with Mega Venusaur, Mega Charizard X and Y, and Mega Blastoise. These raids will be accessible until September 9, when they will be succeeded by Mega Pidgeot and Mega Gyarados. A further rotation is planned for September 16, when raids featuring Mega Gardevoir, Mega Latias and Latios, and Mega Gallade will begin their week-long availability. During the last full week of the month, Mega Kangaskhan and Mega Lopunny will be available from September 23 to 30. Subsequently, Mega Raids will showcase Mega Steelix, Mega Scizor, and Mega Lucario. All Mega Pokemon available in September will have the potential to be shiny.
On September 2, the commencement of Pokemon GO Season 20 is anticipated. It will initiate with a Kanto Celebration event, which will include wild encounters with regional Pokemon, evolutions featuring legacy moves, and Dynamax versions of the legendary birds—Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres—accessible through paid Special Research. The event will also unveil collection challenges that players can complete in exchange for Mega Energy. The Kanto Celebration will continue until September 7, concluding simultaneously with Mega Sharpedo Raid Day.
The Spotlight Hours for Pokemon GO in September 2025 will feature Pidgey, Trubbish, Gothita, Hoothoot, and Aron, in that specific order. As is customary, each event will occur on a Tuesday, from 6pm to 7pm local time.
