Thousands experience power outages around 5:30 in San Bruno and South San Francisco | find now

SAN BRUNO, Calif. – On Tuesday evening, a significant number of Pacific Gas and Electric customers experienced power outages in San Bruno and South San Francisco. This disruption not only impacted residents but also affected shoppers at a local mall.

According to the utility company, over 2,000 customers were impacted, with the outage commencing around 5:30 p.m.

Traffic signals in the vicinity displayed red lights, and several businesses, including a Planet Fitness gym, were forced to close their doors.

PG&E has reported that multiple crews are actively working to restore power. Approximately 1,500 customers have had their electricity restored thus far.

San Bruno- The cause of the outage is currently under investigation

As Diablo Winds sweep through the region, PG&E is also reporting that an additional 7,500 customers in the Bay Area are experiencing outages due to weather-related issues, such as downed power lines, in addition to over 16,000 customers already affected by planned public safety power shutoffs.
