Charlie Kirk shot dead on Utah Campus | Manhunt Underway
Charlie Kirk, a conservative political activist and co-founder of Turning Point USA, has tragically been shot and killed during an event at Utah Valley University.
Authorities believe the shooter fired once from a nearby rooftop in what has been described as a “targeted attack,” according to the Utah Department of Public Safety, which is conducting the investigation in collaboration with the FBI.
A manhunt is currently ongoing. The department reported that two individuals who were initially considered suspects have since been released.
There has been a significant outpouring of condemnation from both political parties. President Donald Trump referred to Kirk’s death as a “dark day for America” and attributed the rise in political violence to the rhetoric of the “radical left.”
As Trump reshaped the Republican Party, Kirk represented the GOP’s emerging populist conservatism in the era of social media. Trump has acknowledged Kirk’s role in energizing and mobilizing the youth vote in his favor.
Charlie Kirk, a staunch supporter of Trump, emerged as a significant young figure within the MAGA movement. He gained recognition for his frequent contributions to conservative media and for engaging in debates on contentious issues at college campuses.
